The downfall is that the cost is significantly higher at $99 a month. What I like about them is how they make learning these topics "fun" it isn't dry and it keeps you focused. They say they are going to beef up their assessments, but there are no plans for this until 2015 (ouch).ĬBT Nuggets - Again, another wonderful selection of videos for IT. However, that's pretty much it for the extras they have for $49 a month, they merely have some short assessments that will not really help you prepare you for what we are all are seeking in the end: Certification. With that, it really can't be beat if that's all you are looking for. PluralSight - Great bang for your buck if you are seeking a broad amount of IT teachings and videos for $29 a month (you save a small amount by paying the annual cost). Here is my 2 cents on both of these options:

If you have any other Pluralsight questions, feel free to ping me! In the keynote speech, our CEO talks about Pluralsight's philosophy and this might help you understand why we keep our pricing affordable! => We held a conference for our course authors back in February. And that's why we've committed to keeping our prices low, while continuing to add more and more value for our customers daily! but everywhere! We want to make it so anyone can take control of their learning and pursue technology as a passion and a career. Technology education hasn't always been viewed that way, but we aim to change that, not only in the U.S. The idea of “democratizing” something is to make it available to all people. The average classroom-based technology training costs more than $2,000 per week. In the U.S., less than 2.4 percent of college students graduate with a computer science degree, and that number keeps dropping. We exist to democratize technology training, meaning we want people around the world to have access to the training they need to get the skills to succeed.

All their video training is free and on You Tube, likewise, CBT Nuggets also have many, many videos on a whole host of subjects on their You Tube feed. I also use You Tube a lot too, for Solarwinds, all their training documentation is free, and they have a similar forum to this called thwack, although that does tend to be more based around their (fanastic and extentsive) product suites, there are a few places to publish non Solarwinds post, however the Spiceworks forum is better for posts that are way out of the area of Solarwinds products, I would suggest that wrht a look too though. Whilst this sound expensive, as I come mainly from a security and network background, and it's great for stuff like that, I've used it extensively for certification purposes, general "that's interesting" browsing, but also for researching topics outside my area of expertise. You tube is great, however I have subscription to CBT Nuggets and it's worth every penny, it costs me at £60 a month but I claim it back via my company (I'm self employed).
